{"id":268,"date":"2020-12-30T02:13:27","date_gmt":"2020-12-30T02:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/198.57.142.215\/~meirwyn\/?p=268"},"modified":"2021-01-11T01:28:53","modified_gmt":"2021-01-11T01:28:53","slug":"whats-the-dobe-of-your-sermon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intentionalpreaching.com\/?p=268","title":{"rendered":"What\u2019s the DoBe of your sermon?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As your congregants what out the back door of the sanctuary, what do you want them to Do, Be, Know or Feel as a result of your preaching?&nbsp; It doesn\u2019t have to be all four of those each week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps today\u2019s sermon on the Great Commission is a call to action, a challenge to \u201cDo\u201d something new or different.&nbsp; Or maybe you are walking through Psalm 23, and today\u2019s passage was about God leading us beside still waters.&nbsp; Will they simply \u201cBe\u201d in God\u2019s caring presence this week?&nbsp; Or you are in the middle of a series on God\u2019s attributes and they now \u201cKnow\u201d more about God\u2019s omnipresence, one more amazing characteristic of God. Or perhaps they just experienced a tragedy in the community and you preached about God\u2019s comfort and they will \u201cFeel\u201d that palpable presence of the suffering Savior throughout the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you establish firmly which of those, Do, Be, Know, or Feel you are shooting at, your aim will be better.
